Salesforce to Acquire Bluebirds to Boost AI Sales Prospecting

Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Bluebirds, an AI-powered prospecting platform designed to help sales teams identify and engage high-potential leads through advanced lead intelligence and data enrichment.

This follows the multi-billion-dollar acquisition of Informatica by Salesforce in May.

Bluebirds uses agentic AI technology to streamline top-of-funnel prospecting, enabling sales teams to target the right leads faster and reduce manual workloads. Once the acquisition closes, Salesforce plans to integrate Bluebirds’ capabilities into Sales Cloud and Agentforce, enhancing its AI-powered automation for sales professionals.

The acquisition is expected to close in Salesforce’s fiscal Q3 2026, pending customary regulatory approvals.

“Every sales team wants to spend less time on busywork and more time closing deals. Bluebirds’ technology will help us deliver smarter, AI-powered prospecting that makes sellers more productive from day one, right inside the Salesforce platform,” Kris Billmaier, EVP and GM, Sales Cloud, Salesforce, said.

Founded by former tech executives, Bluebirds brings expertise in sales data, AI, and agentic systems to Salesforce’s AI roadmap. The company’s team will help Salesforce expand its automated selling tools and improve pre-sales workflows for users.

“We started Bluebirds to help sales teams spend more time selling and less time stitching together disconnected tools. Joining Salesforce lets us accelerate that mission and bring the power of intelligent, agentic prospecting directly into the platform customers already know and trust,” Rohan Punamia, Bluebirds CEO, said.

In June, Salesforce completed the acquisition of Moonhub, an AI recruiting startup known for developing the world’s first AI Recruiter.

The Moonhub team will now join Salesforce to help accelerate its AI ambitions, particularly in support of Agentforce, Salesforce’s AI agent strategy.
