Salesforce Brings Agentforce to Slack

Salesforce has launched Agentforce in Slack, a new AI-powered platform that introduces specialised “digital teammates” into workplace conversations.

Announced Monday, the tool allows organisations to create multiple task-specific AI agents capable of searching Slack messages, accessing company data, and executing multi-step workflows—all within the messaging app.

Unlike general-purpose assistants, these agents are designed to handle focused tasks like onboarding, customer insights, and internal support.

On June 12, Salesforce will launch Slack Employee Agent Templates to streamline custom AI agent deployment. These templates support tasks like accessing customer data, onboarding, and handling HR or IT queries.

Key features include Slack Enterprise Search, which retrieves data from platforms like Google Drive and Asana, and General Slack Topic, which ensures agents operate within user permissions.

To boost adoption, Salesforce is also introducing Shareable Prompts—ready-to-use agent examples that teams can embed in canvases or send via Slack messages. Together, these tools enable context-aware, secure, and efficient AI support directly within Slack’s collaborative environment.

Salesforce's fiscal 2026 revenue forecast fell short of Wall Street expectations, causing its shares to drop about 5% in after-hours trading in February.

The shortfall is attributed to slower-than-anticipated adoption of its Agentforce platform.
