Salesforce Announces Informatica Acquisition for $8 bn
Salesforce plans to fund the acquisition with cash and debt, projecting benefits to margins and earnings by year two

Salesforce has entered a definitive agreement to acquire cloud data management company Informatica for $8 billion in equity, excluding its existing stake.
Informatica shareholders will receive $25 per share in cash. The acquisition aims to enhance Salesforce’s AI agent platform, Agentforce, by integrating Informatica’s metadata management, MDM, and data governance tools across services like Data Cloud, MuleSoft, and Tableau.
This move builds on Salesforce’s prior acquisitions of MuleSoft, Tableau, and Slack. Marc Benioff, Salesforce CEO, said the deal will create the industry’s most complete, agent-ready data platform. Approved by both boards, the deal is expected to close by FY27.
“By uniting the power of Data Cloud, MuleSoft, and Tableau with Informatica’s industry-leading, advanced data management capabilities, we will enable autonomous agents to deliver smarter, safer, and more scalable outcomes for every company, and significantly strengthen our position in the $150 billion-plus enterprise data market,” Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, said.
