An eight-qubit quantum computer developed by Bengaluru-based QpiAI will be installed at VIT-AP University in Amaravati this November. Backed by the National Quantum Mission (NQM), the project marks a key step in QpiAI’s expansion.

Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu [announced](https://x.com/ncbn/status/1948278272825213206?ref=theleftshift.com) the milestone on X, highlighting its potential to transform agriculture, healthcare, and water management.

Earlier this year, it also unveiled *QVidya*, [India’s first 8-qubit superconducting quantum computer](https://www.theleftshift.com/bengaluru-startup-unveils-indias-first-quantum-computer-for-education/) designed exclusively for academic institutions and research labs.

QVidya is part of QpiAI’s full-stack quantum ecosystem, integrating a modular quantum computer system, an 8-qubit Quantum Processor Unit (QPU), advanced control and readout electronics, a GUI-based algorithm development platform, and quantum learning and simulation tools.

QpiAI chose Andhra Pradesh for the installation after receiving a warm and proactive response from the state government.

Meanwhile, the company is also acquiring 10 acres from the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board, where it plans to invest ₹500 crore over the next five to seven years to establish a state-of-the-art quantum and AI research facility in Bengaluru.

Recently, the Bengaluru-based startup [raised $32 million in a Series A round](https://www.theleftshift.com/qpiai-raises-32-mn-to-scale-quantum-to-fuel-global-expansion/) led by Avataar Ventures and India’s National Quantum Mission (NQM).

The funding will speed up the development of QpiAI’s utility-scale quantum computer and support its global growth plans. The company currently operates out of India, Finland, and the United States.
