# Prime Video Will Now Show Ads—Unless You Pay ₹699 More

Starting June 17, 2025, Amazon Prime Video in India will begin showing limited ads during movies and TV shows, according to [media](https://indianexpress.com/article/technology/tech-news-technology/prime-video-ads-in-india-unless-you-pay-more-10000239/?ref=theleftshift.com) reports. 

While the standard Prime membership price remains unchanged, users can opt for an ad-free experience by paying ₹699 per year or ₹129 per month.

Amazon introduced this first in the US and a few other markets in 2024.

It says the move will help fund new content while keeping ad volumes lower than traditional TV and other platforms. 

Those unwilling to accept the change can cancel their subscription and request a pro-rated refund. 

Prime in India is available in multiple tiers, including Prime Lite, Shopping Edition, and Standard.
