OpenAI Set to Unveil Agent Builder at DevDay 2025

OpenAI is reportedly preparing to unveil its Agent Builder tool during DevDay 2025 on October 6. The forthcoming feature is expected to enable developers to build agentic workflows, integrate MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools, and add ChatKit widgets and other capabilities.

Agent Builder could offer a canvas-like interface, streamlining the process of composing, connecting, and orchestrating AI agents within the OpenAI ecosystem. That would mark a significant step toward democratising agent design for developers.

DevDay is already shaping up to be a major event. According to OpenAI’s announcement, the conference will host more than 1,500 developers with keynotes, demos, and product reveals.

TechCrunch reports that Altman’s opening keynote is expected to include “announcements, live demos, and a vision of how developers are reshaping the future with AI.”

While OpenAI has not officially confirmed the Agent Builder, the platform’s potential is drawing early attention. If launched, it could accelerate the creation of custom agents by bridging protocol, tooling, and orchestration in a unified interface—something developers have eagerly awaited.
