# Okta Names Shakeel Khan as Regional VP and Country Manager for India

[Okta](https://www.okta.com/?ref=theleftshift.com), the leading US-based identity and access management company, has appointed [**Shakeel Khan**](https://www.linkedin.com/in/shakeelkhan1804/?originalSubdomain=in&ref=theleftshift.com) as its Regional Vice President and Country Manager for India. 

Based in Bangalore, Khan will oversee **Okta’s sales operations** in the country. His extensive career, spanning **pre-sales** to **enterprise sales leadership**, provides him with deep expertise across the entire cybersecurity ecosystem.

With an impressive **27 years of experience in cybersecurity**,   **Khan** will lead Okta’s efforts to strengthen its position as a trusted **identity security** partner for businesses in India. 

This strategic move also underscores Okta’s commitment to securing **digital identities** and expanding its presence in India, one of the fastest-growing markets for cybersecurity solutions.

#### Okta’s Commitment to India’s Growing Cybersecurity Needs

#### Okta’s Rapid Expansion in India

Since launching in India in **2023**, Okta has seen impressive growth, tripling its workforce to over **300 employees** in just one year. As part of its expansion plans, Okta is set to exceed **500 employees** by **2025**.

India represents a critical market for Okta, especially with the country's developer base projected to surpass that of the **US by 2027**. Moreover, over **75% of IT spending** in India is expected to flow through partner channels, further solidifying the importance of the region for Okta’s growth strategy.
