Okta Acquires Axiom Security to Strengthen Identity-Centric Privileged Access Management
Axiom delivers Just-in-Time (JIT) access, automated approval workflows, and user access reviews.

Okta has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Axiom Security, a Tel Aviv-based startup offering a cloud-native, identity-centric Privileged Access Management (PAM) platform. The acquisition, expected to close in September, will enhance Okta’s PAM capabilities, helping enterprises secure access to sensitive resources across cloud, SaaS, and database environments.
"This acquisition will help Okta customers extend their identity security fabric to more privileged accounts and resources, ensuring a single control plane for managing privileged access, whether on-prem or in the cloud," the company said in a blog post.
Founded by Itay Mesika and Ilan Dardik, Axiom delivers Just-in-Time (JIT) access, automated approval workflows, and user access reviews—features that align closely with Okta’s vision of secure, seamless identity management.
The acquisition comes at a critical time as enterprises adopt AI-driven tools, increasing the need for strong privileged access controls. Okta plans to integrate Axiom’s technology into its Privileged Access solution, offering unified control across multi-cloud and on-prem resources, deeper coverage for Kubernetes and databases, and AI-powered application connectors.
“The security risks in an AI era demand an identity security fabric,” Okta emphasised, pointing to growing challenges in managing both human and non-human identities.
This move reinforces Okta’s commitment to building a centralised, adaptive identity security platform designed to safeguard all users and services in today’s cloud-first world.
