Microsoft Upgrades Copilot in Windows 11 with Vision, Voice, and File-Savvy AI Upgrades
Among the key updates is Copilot Vision, a computer vision-powered tool that helps users navigate new apps, generate text, and get design recommendations.

Microsoft has rolled out a new wave of AI-powered upgrades for its Copilot assistant in Windows 11, introducing enhanced automation, multimodal interaction, and expanded file access.
Among the key updates is Copilot Vision, a computer vision-powered tool that helps users navigate new apps, generate text, and get design recommendations.
Previously limited to voice commands, it now also includes a chat interface for typed prompts. The standard Copilot also gains new voice controls, including the ability to wake the assistant with “Hey Copilot” and end a session by saying “Goodbye.”
Some features are available immediately, while others are launching via the Windows Insider beta testing programme.

"With your permission, Copilot Vision can analyze what’s on your screen helping you learn new apps, get recommendations for a project or show you how to do it. Since its initial release, early adopters of Copilot Vision have inspired us with their creative use cases, from troubleshooting settings, to getting step-by-step guidance, and even learning complex editing tools," Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s consumer chief marketing officer, wrote in a blog post.
Another major upgrade is coming to Copilot Actions, which is Microsoft’s AI automation agent. Initially able to handle only browser-based tasks, the tool can now interact with local files — enabling users to automate workflows such as extracting data from PDFs or managing documents stored in OneDrive and Google Drive.
Windows 11 users will also see a new Copilot button on the taskbar for quick access, along with integrations for Zoom, Filmora, and Manus AI.
Microsoft says these upgrades are designed to make Copilot a more intuitive and powerful companion for everyday computing.
