Microsoft has unveiled its latest business-focused device—the Surface Laptop 5G, arriving August 26th—designed to deliver AI-enhanced performance and ultra-reliable mobile connectivity. Moreover, the new 13-inch Surface Laptop and 12-inch Surface Pro are now available starting today.

Built on the 13.8-inch Surface Laptop line and powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, the new model integrates a robust Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to enable Copilot+ AI features.

Key features include:

  • True 5G support with both nano‑SIM and eSIM options, compatible with over 100 mobile operators across 50+ countries
  • A dynamic six-antenna system and multi-layered laminate for seamless switching between 5G and Wi‑Fi and minimizing signal blockage based on device orientation
  • Capacities ranging from 16GB–32GB RAM and 256GB–1TB SSD, starting at $1,799 for the base model and $2,699 for top-tier versions

The laptop also functions as a 5G mobile hotspot, enabling secure connectivity for other devices on the go. IT teams benefit from features like zero-touch deployment of eSIM profiles and cloud‑based management via Intune, enhancing remote device provisioning.

“At the heart of Surface Laptop 5G is a dynamic antenna system that continuously adapts to its environment… ensuring strong, reliable connectivity exactly when and where it’s needed,” Nancie Gaskill, Microsoft’s General Manager of Surface products, said.

Complementing its growing Copilot+ PC lineup—which includes Snapdragon-powered Surface models—this 5G variant underscores Microsoft’s push toward mobile-first, AI-ready devices optimized for hybrid work.

With Windows 10 support ending in October 2025, Microsoft is banking on the Surface 5G to spearhead cloud-first, AI-accelerated, and always-connected enterprise computing.

"The Surface for Business portfolio offers a complete solution for every user scenario, from tablet-first flexibility to high-performance laptops, all supported by Microsoft’s modern management and industry-leading security," Gaskill added.
