Meta and Reliance Announce Joint Venture to Accelerate AI Adoption in India

Meta and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) have announced plans to establish a strategic joint venture to build enterprise AI solutions powered by Meta’s open-source Llama models. The initiative is designed to make cutting-edge AI more accessible to Indian businesses, from large corporations to startups.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, said, “We’re excited to deepen our partnership with Reliance to bring the power of open-source AI to Indian developers and enterprises. Through this joint venture, we’re putting Meta’s Llama models into real-world use, and I’m looking forward to Meta expanding its footprint in the enterprise space as we unlock new possibilities together.”

The JV will deliver a secure, full-stack environment for organisations to customise and deploy generative AI, alongside a suite of pre-configured solutions for industries such as sales, marketing, IT, customer service, and finance.

Leveraging RIL’s digital infrastructure, Jio’s nationwide connectivity, and advanced AI data centres, the collaboration promises scalable, cost-efficient AI deployments with low latency and flexible cloud or on-premise options.

By combining Meta’s AI expertise with Reliance’s reach, the partnership aims to empower Indian enterprises, foster innovation, and enable small businesses to adopt advanced AI at lower costs.
