Meesho Open-Sources Key AI Tools from BharatMLStack to Empower Developers

Social ecommerce giant Meesho has open-sourced core components of its internal machine learning platform, BharatMLStack, to democratise access to high-scale AI infrastructure.

The release includes its online feature store, control plane, orchestration UI, and SDKs, all now publicly available on GitHub.

“We put BharatMLStack to the test during high-traffic events like our Mega Blockbuster Sale in March 2025, where it delivered at scale. This helped Meesho drive higher user engagement, better conversions, and increased order volumes,” Sanjeev Kumar, Meesho’s Founder and CTO.

BharatMLStack has been in development for over two years and played a pivotal role in driving Meesho’s AI-powered operations.

In FY25, it supported 66.9 trillion feature retrievals and 3.12 trillion real-time inferences at peak. These capabilities enable critical functions like fraud detection and personalized product recommendations.

By open-sourcing the stack, Meesho—backed by Prosus and eyeing a future IPO—aims to provide Indian developers and businesses with tools designed for real-time AI use cases and scalable performance.

Future components of BharatMLStack will also be released, with opportunities for the developer community to contribute and build together.
