IBM Acquires Seek AI to Boost Enterprise Data Capabilities
Seek’s technology will now power Watsonx AI Labs—IBM’s new Manhattan-based AI accelerator.

IBM has announced the acquisition of Seek AI, a New York-based startup that enables users to query enterprise data through natural language.
Though financial terms were not disclosed, Seek’s technology will now power Watsonx AI Labs—IBM’s new Manhattan-based AI accelerator.
Seek CEO and founder Sarah Nagy shared on LinkedIn that the partnership will allow the team to scale their platform, build mission-critical solutions for IBM clients, and significantly expand.
"At a Tech:NYC event, I met Arvind Krishna and discovered that IBM shared our mission at a much larger scale. Now, as the foundation of watsonx AI Labs at One Madison, we’ll scale our platform, deploy mission-critical solutions for IBM clients, empower the next generation of AI developers, and grow our team significantly," Nagy said.
Founded in 2021, Seek developed tools that let users ask questions about data through a chatbot-style interface, which automatically converts queries into database commands and delivers insights.
The acquisition aligns with IBM’s strategy to deepen its enterprise AI offerings, a move that has already boosted software growth and helped exceed Q1 earnings estimates.
Before the acquisition, Seek raised about $10 million from investors like Battery Ventures and Conviction Partners.
