HCLTech Partners with IIT Guwahati to Upskill Employees in AI
IIT Guwahati Director Devendra Jalihal said the programme is designed to provide accessible, high-quality education that empowers learners in the tech-driven future

HCLTech has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati to offer its TechBee early-career employees the opportunity to pursue a four-year online BSc in Data Science and AI.
The initiative aims to equip employees with cutting-edge skills to navigate the rapidly evolving tech landscape and prepare them for leadership roles.
IIT Guwahati Director Devendra Jalihal said the programme is designed to provide accessible, high-quality education that empowers learners in the tech-driven future.
This partnership builds on HCLTech’s broader commitment to AI education, including its collaboration with UK-based Multiverse to launch an “AI for Business Value” programme and its goal to upskill 50,000 employees in GenAI by 2025.
Meanwhile, Assam is making strides in AI adoption in education. The state introduced AI as an elective subject and recently conducted a residential AI training for schoolteachers at IIT Guwahati, highlighting efforts to align education with the demands of a digital economy.
