Google Launches Gemini 3.1 Pro with Enhanced Reasoning and Creative Capabilities

Google has announced Gemini 3.1 Pro, an upgraded version of its advanced AI model designed to tackle complex reasoning, creative tasks and real-world problem solving across consumer and developer platforms.

The new model is being rolled out in preview today via the Gemini API, Vertex AI, the Gemini app and NotebookLM, widening access to Google’s latest artificial intelligence breakthroughs.

Building on the Gemini 3 series, Gemini 3.1 Pro delivers significant improvements in core reasoning, scoring notably higher on complex benchmarks such as ARC-AGI-2, where it achieved a verified score of 77.1%, more than double the performance of its predecessor.

The upgraded model is intended for tasks where simple answers are insufficient, such as synthesizing data, explaining nuanced topics or producing context-rich outputs.

The update also expands the model’s creative capabilities, including generating code-based animations, synthesizing complex system dashboards from real data streams and even crafting immersive interactive designs from textual prompts. Google said these features demonstrate how 3.1 Pro can be applied beyond traditional text-generation to practical applications in design, visualization and engineering workflows.

Gemini 3.1 Pro is initially available in preview to developers and enterprise users, with broader rollout plans forthcoming as Google continues to refine agent-oriented features and large-scale reasoning functions. The announcement underscores Google’s focus on equipping its AI ecosystem with more intelligent, versatile models capable of powering next-generation applications.
