Databricks Launches Public Preview of Databricks One to Bring AI and Data Insights to Every Employee

Databricks has announced the public preview of Databricks One, its new user experience designed to make data and AI accessible to every employee, not just technical teams. First unveiled at this year’s Data + AI Summit, Databricks One aims to remove long-standing barriers that have restricted deep insights to specialists working with advanced tools.

Available across all major clouds, the platform delivers a streamlined, AI-enhanced interface that simplifies access to insights while maintaining governance and security. For business users, Databricks One introduces a unified experience where they can ask questions in plain language using Genie, explore AI/BI dashboards built on consistent metrics, and interact with Databricks Apps — all without specialised training.

Databricks says this shift is crucial as enterprises often face challenges like costly BI licenses, fragmented toolsets, inconsistent KPIs, and delays in accessing technical expertise. By bridging this gap, the company hopes to democratise AI-driven decision-making across organisations.

For IT and administrators, Databricks One reduces cost and complexity. A single “consumer access” entitlement allows large groups of employees to be onboarded quickly, while Unity Catalog ensures consistent governance, access control, and auditability. Importantly, Databricks One comes included with the Data Intelligence Platform at no additional cost.

Key enhancements in the public preview include:

  • A redesigned homepage with AI-suggested content and unified search.
  • Broader access for all Databricks users, with a new app switcher for easy navigation.
  • Simplified onboarding through consumer access entitlements.
  • Seamless governance with no extra licenses required.

Earlier this month, Databricks said it crossed a $4 billion revenue run-rate in Q2 2025, marking more than 50% year-over-year growth. The company also revealed its AI products have reached a $1 billion revenue run-rate, underscoring the rapid adoption of its data and AI platform across industries.
