CoreWeave Expands OpenAI Deal to $22.4 Bn to Power Next-Gen AI Models

NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 26,2025 — CoreWeave announced today an expanded agreement with OpenAI to provide the compute power behind its most advanced next-generation models.

The latest contract, valued at up to $6.5 billion, reinforces CoreWeave’s role as a central cloud partner for demanding AI training workloads.

This marks the third major deal between the companies in 2025. CoreWeave previously announced an agreement worth up to $11.9 billion in March, followed by an additional $4 billion deal in May.

Recently, OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank announced the selection of five new U.S. data centre sites under Stargate, OpenAI’s massive AI infrastructure programme.

With today’s announcement, the total contract value between CoreWeave and OpenAI now stands at approximately $22.4 billion.

“We are proud to expand our relationship with OpenAI, a company consistently at the forefront of advancing artificial intelligence,” said Michael Intrator, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of CoreWeave. “This milestone affirms the trust that world-leading innovators have in CoreWeave’s ability to power the most demanding inference and training workloads at an unmatched pace.”

Peter Hoeschele, VP of Infrastructure and Industrial Compute at OpenAI, added, “CoreWeave has become an important partner in OpenAI’s broader infrastructure platform. By delivering compute at unmatched speed and scale, they're helping us advance the frontier of intelligence and ensure AI's benefits reach everyone.”

The deal follows other milestones for CoreWeave, including a $1.5 billion investment to drive UK AI innovation, the launch of CoreWeave Ventures, and acquisitions of OpenPipe and Weights & Biases.
