Celonis, Genpact Launch App to Boost Transport Networks, Efficiency, and Cut Costs

Celonis, a global leader in Process Mining, today announced the launch of the Genpact Transportation Costs and Performance app.

Developed by Genpact and powered by the Celonis Process Intelligence platform, the app is designed to help supply chain leaders optimise transportation networks, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and manage carrier performance more effectively.

Powered by the Celonis Process Intelligence platform, the Genpact Transportation Costs and Performance app is designed to consolidate process data from Oracle Transportation Management (TMS) systems—with the flexibility to adapt to other TMS platforms—and can be extended with WMS, ERP, and other logistics-related data if needed.

It forms a digital twin of supply chain operations, from shipment planning and tendering to final delivery and returns, and is expected to enable operators to:

• Enhance on-time delivery: Identifying and addressing root causes of delays in specific lanes, suppliers, modalities, sites, or processes.
• Reduce transportation costs: Planning proactively, effective resource management, spot freight management, and strict policy adherence with real-time alerting.
• Boost carrier performance: Analysing costs associated with supplier delays and service level agreement violations to identify areas for improvement and better carrier alternatives.
• Optimise load management: Identifying transportation patterns to ensure consistent truck loads, minimize empty trips, and respond to unexpected changes in load volumes or carrier capacity.
• Enhance route planning: Pinpointing inefficient distribution routes, analysing options in real time, and devising more efficient paths for optimized truck utilization.

Key Features

The Genpact Transportation Costs and Performance app has been designed to provide a comprehensive range of tools to visualise, analyse, and optimise transportation operations, including:

• Process Explorer: Enables users to visualise all interconnected logistics processes from sales order to fulfillment, identify process anomalies and exceptions, and quantify their financial and operational impact.
• Transportation Cockpit: A central dashboard that summarises key operational and financial metrics and KPI performance, offering real-time monitoring, easy identification of trends, and the ability to dig into specific transportation data for root cause analysis.
• On-time delivery (OTD) / On-time collections (OTC): Provides the ability to analyse on-time collections and deliveries, filtering by lanes, carriers, destinations and more.
• Order Cycle Time: Allows users to view the overall process cycle time and identify tasks, processes or interactions with the highest impact on lead times.
• Lane Analysis: Offers a detailed view of lane performance, highlighting areas of underperformance requiring attention. 
• Carrier Performance: Creates an in-depth evaluation of each carrier’s key operational metrics, including tender acceptance rates, response times, on-time pickups, and dwell times at loading and unloading locations.
• Automation: Highlights manual processes that could be automated by Process Intelligence and delivered by functionality like Celonis’ low-code Action Flows to improve transportation performance.
