AWS Launches Marketplace in India: Local INR Buying Goes Live for 30,000+ Software Products
AWS Marketplace will host more than 30,000 transactable listings across 70+ software categories
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has expanded AWS Marketplace to India, enabling customers to purchase software and services from India-based sellers directly in Indian Rupees (INR).
The move brings local invoicing, local payment options, and simplified tax compliance to both buyers and sellers, marking a major shift in how Indian enterprises procure cloud-based technologies.
AWS Marketplace, which hosts more than 30,000 transactable listings across 70+ software categories—from Security and Agentic AI to DevOps and Analytics—will now allow customers in India to buy offerings from global and domestic providers including Cisco, CrowdStrike, Deloitte, Freshworks, eMudhra, Gupshup.ai, IBM, Kore.ai, Palo Alto Networks, Salesforce, Sarvam, Sonata Software, Redington and VideoCX.io.
“AWS Marketplace in India eliminates traditional procurement friction by enabling local currency transactions, simplified tax compliance, and streamlined procurement workflows – giving Indian customers faster access to cutting-edge technologies, and Indian sellers a proven pathway to scale their solutions and foster connections between local innovation and enterprise demand,” Ruba Borno, VP, Global Specialists & Partners, AWS, said.
Praveen Sridhar, Head of Partner Business, AWS India and South Asia, added, “The expansion of AWS Marketplace in India creates new opportunities for technology providers to connect with India's dynamic customer base… ultimately accelerating innovation across India's digital economy.”
AWS Marketplace has been a significant growth engine globally. A Forrester study reports customers see a 377% ROI, 70% reduction in discovery time, and procurement cycles that are 60% faster.
Launch partners say the impact will be immediate. Girish Ramachandran, President – Growth Markets, TCS, said, “As a launch partner, we look forward to leveraging AWS Marketplace to offer our customers greater agility, faster innovation, and access to cutting-edge solutions while enhancing our own cloud offerings.”
Salesforce South Asia CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya noted, “This expansion will empower Indian customers to leverage our AI-powered CRM solutions with local currency transactions in INR and simplified tax compliance…”
Sarvam Cofounder Pratyush Kumar added, “This collaboration strengthens our mission to build India’s Sovereign AI stack—bringing population-scale, India-first GenAI solutions to enterprises and governments across Bharat.”
