August AI Secures $3 Mn to Scale Its AI Health Assistant Globally
It plans to utilise the fresh capital to scale the platform, accelerate product development and expand its medical knowledge base.

Bengaluru, October 8, 2025 — Healthtech startup August AI has closed a $3 million seed funding round, backed by Accel and Claypond Capital, the family office of Ranjan Pai.
It plans to utilise the fresh capital to scale the platform, accelerate product development and expand its medical knowledge base.
Founded in 2022 by Anuruddh Mishra, August AI offers an AI-powered health assistant that helps users track symptoms, interpret medical reports, and manage treatment protocols. The platform is available via WhatsApp and app stores, and already serves over 3.5 million users.
The platform uses Azure OpenAI’s AI models to analyse health-related queries by referencing verified medical data and sources. It offers general guidance on symptoms, treatment options, and preventive care, and supports over 30 languages.
Mishra said, “Think about how many times you’ve put off going to a doctor by a day or two… We’re breaking this cycle by creating an immediate, always-available health companion that gives people the clarity they need, when they need it — not weeks later.”
The startup claims to deliver 25% higher accuracy than baseline benchmarks in symptom assessment and triage across 14 specialties.
With this funding round, August AI joins a growing wave of Indian healthtech firms leveraging AI to bridge gaps in care access and patient support.Last year, former BharatPe Chief Product Officer Ankur Jain launched Jivi AI, a similar startup building a chatbot that serves as a personal doctor for users.
