Apple Acquires MotionVFX to Boost Final Cut Pro Ecosystem
MotionVFX offers professional-grade video editing tools through subscription plans starting at $29 per month.
Apple has acquired MotionVFX, a Poland-based developer of plug-ins, templates, and advanced tools for its Final Cut Pro video editing software.
Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Warsaw, MotionVFX offers professional-grade video editing tools through subscription plans starting at $29 per month.
“For over 15 years, we’ve been on a mission to create world-class, visually inspiring content and effects for video editors. From the very beginning, we’ve been all about quality, ease of use, and great design. These are also the values that we admire most in Apple’s products, and we’re thrilled to be able to embrace them together,” MotionVFX said in a statement.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Apple’s video editing ecosystem, with MotionVFX’s tools likely to be integrated into Final Cut Pro and related services. It could also help Apple better compete with Adobe’s Premiere Pro and its broader Creative Cloud suite.
The acquisition aligns with Apple’s broader push into subscription services, including its recently launched Creator Studio bundle, which combines multiple creative apps and premium content offerings.
Apple’s services business has become a key growth driver, contributing over 26% of its revenue in the last fiscal year, highlighting the strategic importance of expanding its creator-focused ecosystem.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
