# Akasa Air Appoints Former Dish TV IT Chief Abhishek Gupta as CIO

Akasa Air has appointed [Abhishek Gupta](https://www.linkedin.com/in/abhishekguptaiima/?ref=theleftshift.com) as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), bringing more than two decades of experience in enterprise IT, cloud adoption, technology operations and digital transformation to the Indian airline.

Gupta will lead the airline's information technology function as the carrier continues to expand its network and operational footprint.

His experience in enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure and digital strategy comes as airlines increasingly rely on technology across flight operations, customer engagement, digital platforms and back-office functions.

Gupta joins Akasa Air from Dish TV, where he served as Corporate Head of IT from 2019 until his departure on August 31, 2026\. He joined the company in 2015 as Vice President of IT and subsequently led technology modernisation and digital transformation initiatives.

During his tenure at Dish TV, Gupta worked on [cloud adoption](https://www.theleftshift.com/neysa-pipeshift-launch-india-based-ai-inference-cloud/), technology infrastructure and the deployment of artificial intelligence capabilities to support the company's digital operations. Gupta holds an engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
