Amazon has cut about 100 jobs in its devices and services unit, the company confirmed.

The layoffs represent a small portion of the unit’s workforce, which includes teams behind the Kindle, Echo, Alexa, and Zoox robotaxi.

A spokesperson said the reductions were made to improve efficiency and better align with the product roadmap.

This follows previous rounds of job cuts since CEO Andy Jassy took over in 2021, including over 27,000 corporate layoffs.

Recently, Microsoft [announced](https://www.theleftshift.com/microsoft-fires-6000-employees-globally/) that it will cut around 6,000 jobs — approximately 3% of its global workforce — as part of a broader organisational restructuring.

The layoffs span all levels, teams, and regions, including 1,985 roles tied to its Redmond, Washington, headquarters.
