# Adobe Firefly Adds AI Audio Tools and Expands Access to Rival Models

Adobe is expanding its Firefly generative AI platform with [new audio capabilities](https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2026/08/20/adobe-firefly-expands-its-creative-ai-studio-generate-music-speech-and-sound-effects-in-one-place?ref=theleftshift.com), broader access to third-party AI models and a free version of its Firefly AI Assistant.

The company said on Thursday that Firefly’s AI-powered [audio tools](https://www.theleftshift.com/top-5-voice-ai-startups-in-india-in-2026/) are now generally available, allowing creators to generate music, speech and sound effects directly within the platform.

Adobe’s Firefly ecosystem combines its own creative tools with AI models from companies including Google, ElevenLabs, Kling AI, Luma AI, [OpenAI](https://www.theleftshift.com/openai-brings-chatgpt-desktop-app-to-linux-expanding-its-agentic-push/) and Runway.

The new audio features are designed to reduce the need for creators to move between specialised applications when producing videos, social media content, podcasts and other digital projects.

Firefly’s **Generate Music** tool, powered by Adobe’s Firefly Music Model, can create original tracks based on a video's length and mood. Adobe says the generated music is commercially safe, allowing creators to use it without separately searching for licensed tracks.

**Generate Speech**, powered by Adobe’s Firefly Speech Model with an option to use ElevenLabs, converts written scripts into voiceovers while allowing users to control voice characteristics, pacing and emotion.

Meanwhile, **Generate Sound Effects** uses Adobe’s Firefly Audio Model to create sounds based on the action and timing of video content.

[Adobe](https://www.theleftshift.com/adobe-taps-runway-to-bring-next-gen-ai-video-creation-to-firefly/) is also expanding Firefly AI Assistant, which allows users to describe creative tasks using natural language and have the system perform them. New capabilities include **Create Storyboard** and **Create Brand Kit**, which Adobe said are among the assistant’s most-used skills.

The company is now offering a free Firefly AI Assistant experience with daily generations, allowing users to test the AI-powered creative workflow without a paid subscription.

Adobe is also adding **Gemini Omni Flash** to Firefly, expanding the platform’s access to third-party models. The model can accept video, audio and image inputs alongside text, enabling users to develop ideas such as storyboards and early video concepts from multiple forms of input.
